Join EY's Financial Services (FS) Tax practice in Edinburgh as a Corporate Tax Manager and you will be helping clients meet the complex demands of today's tax environment. You will help to manage relationships with some of our key local and national clients, both directly delivering services and working with FS Tax & Law colleagues nationwide to bring them the best of EY as required. You will help our clients understand the implications of tax law, regulatory and accounting changes and build in sustainable strategies to deal with them. With a focus on tax compliance and tax reporting for a wide variety of clients in the Wealth & Asset Management, Banking, Insurance sectors, this role will also have the opportunity for advisory work. Our FS Global Compliance and Reporting team has grown rapidly over recent years to 160 people - our Edinburgh team has a long history of serving FS clients in the local market and beyond and continues to lead the way in key growth areas, creating additional roles locally. Your key responsibilities: The types of project that you will contribute to may include: UK corporation tax compliance, partnership compliance, UK reporting fund compliance, tax accounting and tax audit engagements. You will be responsible for: Proactively maintaining your tax technical knowledge and sector awareness so that you can best advise our clients. Building and maintaining key client relationships by delivering exceptional client service Ensuring technical excellence and applying a practical, business driven approach on all projects Identifying and driving opportunities - use your knowledge and technical skillset to add input to new projects and proposals Building strong client and internal relationships - develop your own external and internal networks Effective coaching and development of junior staff through delegation and on the job training Skills and attributes for success: Strong project management skills Strategically and commercially aware Ability to build strong client relationships and commitment to delivery of exceptional client service Excellent written and oral communication skills. Enthusiastic attitude to work Strong and motivated team player who integrates into new teams quickly Strong coaching and mentoring skills Ability to identify areas of risk, carry out effective reviews and know when to refer upwards To qualify for the role, you must have: Experience in corporate tax with a large accountancy or law firm, HMRC or in-house tax team Any of the following preferred: ACA / ACCA / CA / CTA (or breadth of knowledge equivalent to CTA, e.g. law qualification)
