Job Description Staff CPU Design Engineer European Tech Recruit are working closely with a leading semiconductor company, based in Cambridge, who are looking for a talented Staff CPU Design Engineer to join their team. Your role will be to define and build hardware RTL designs for low-power and area efficiency, to write and review documentation, and to provide planning, tracking, and reporting in order to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of CPU IP. Requirements: Hands-on proficiency with System Verilog, Verilog, or VHDL HDL for RTL design. Expertise in synthesizable design that achieves area, frequency, and power targets ability to make judgments on functionality and performance trade-offs. Track record of writing specifications and documentation describing complex designs. Capacity to own all stages of a project, from start to completion: concept, specification, implementation, and testing support. Proven technical and/or team leadership skills. Practical experience of working on microprocessor designs. Desirable experience: Working knowledge of SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA). Mentoring team members. Knowledge of scripting e.g., Python, Perl, or Unix shell scripting. Knowledge of assembly (preferably ARM), C/C++, and/or hardware verification e.g., SystemVerilog.
