Role Responsibilities As a Senior Accountant, you ll take ownership of preparing accounts for a range of client types and sectors, ensuring accuracy and delivering exceptional service. Key responsibilities include: Preparing accounts from various client systems, including Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks Preparing corporation tax computations and management accounts Handling queries raised by accounts and tax managers, ensuring resolution and accuracy Finalising accounts following client meetings Acting as a point of contact for clients, addressing ad hoc queries Preparing VAT returns and supporting clients with compliance Supervising, training, and mentoring junior team members About the Firm This Newcastle-based accountancy practice is renowned for delivering exceptional accounting services to a diverse range of clients across sectors such as engineering, leisure, hospitality, solicitors, and charities. Candidate Requirements ACA, ACCA, or AAT qualification, or be a finalist, or be qualified by experience A minimum of 4 years experience working in an accountancy practice (preferred) Strong technical knowledge and familiarity with current legislation Experience preparing year-end accounts for owner-managed businesses, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Proven ability to supervise, train, and mentor junior staff Strong organisational and administrative skills with a high attention to detail Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks (preferred) A proactive and driven approach to meeting deadlines and budgets What s On Offer £38,000 to £48,000 per annum Full time, permanent role Flexible working Company pension Generous annual leave Regular social events Professional development opportunities Supportive working environment Inclusive company values Regular team events Plus more Ready to accelerate your practice career?
