We are representing a lovely scenic Children's Residential Service based in Preston, South Ribble Area.

Salary Up to £55,000
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Location: South Ribble, Preston Size of service: 2-3 bedded homes
Type of service: EBD, challenging behaviours and mild to moderate LD

You can earn up to £5,500 in managers bonuses.
Employee of the Year - £500 cash bonus.
Opportunities for progression/development. 30 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays).
This rises by an additional day for every year of service up to 5 years.
Compassionate Leave.

Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential children’s care

(This is a requirement within the children’s homes regulations)

Completed / Enrolled on Level 5 Leadership and management qualification

NVQ Level 3/4 Children and Young People (or equivalent / working towards)

GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)

Evidence of significant experience of managing staff to deliver high standards of care.

Experience of effectively managing budgets including monitoring, recording and reporting.

Provide leadership creating an emotionally secure, consistent, warm, supportive, and nurturing environment appropriate to the physical, social, cultural, and religious needs of young people.

Ensure that the home is run in line with policies and procedures, Children’s legislation, regulations, and good practice and meets Ofsted standards at all times.

Develop and implement care plans for young people that include a variety of intervention strategies with emphasis behaviour management and the development of coping mechanisms.

Ensure that meetings and reviews of children are delivered within required time scales.

Ensure that staff deliver the support required in order to ensure that the life chance opportunities of young people are met in relation to their social, educational, leisure, emotional, physical and cultural needs.

Lead on the development and implementation of strategies in response to challenging behaviours ensuring these are consistently applied in the home.

Ensure that you lead the safeguarding culture.

Safeguard and protect the health, safety and well-being of children.

Be the primary point of contact in the home for representatives of other agencies including local authorities, regulators, GP and other medical professionals, therapists and social workers.

Ensure that the home works with families as set out in the young person’s care plan.

Ensure that an open culture is created, in which young people are able to express their views in a non-judgmental setting, be involved in individual and collective decision making and feel that they have choice and agency.

Participate in Staff and young people’s meetings as and when required.

Ensure that within the home staff, and young people understand, recognise, and celebrate the diversity of cultures and beliefs within the local and wider community.
