We are working with a leading law firm to hire a Compliance Manager in Manchester. In this role, you ll take ownership of the client and matter onboarding process while overseeing a team of Risk & Compliance Analysts. You ll act as a key advisor on regulatory issues and contribute to the development and implementation of firmwide risk policies. The firm is seeking someone with significant experience in risk and compliance within a legal environment, ideally with at least five years of relevant expertise. A strong understanding of UK money laundering regulations and the SRA Codes of Conduct is essential. The responsibilities will include: Leading and managing the client and matter onboarding process Line management of Risk & Compliance Analysts Handling first-line conflict checks, sanctions screening, and PEP assessments Advising on CDD/EDD matters and other regulatory queries Delivering training on onboarding and regulatory compliance Reviewing and analysing conflicts of interest Supporting the implementation of risk controls and information barriers Responding to client compliance questionnaires and data requests They are looking for candidates with strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management.
