Marks Sattin Executive Search is working with a PE-Backed Environmental Services business that is entering a new phase of stability and operational focus. As the business continues to evolve under private equity ownership, it is seeking a commercially minded CFO to provide strong financial leadership and drive operational improvements across the business Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the senior leadership team and investors, the CFO will be responsible for shaping and executing the financial strategy, overseeing day-to-day financial management, and enhancing controls, reporting, and forecasting. This is a key role focused on building financial maturity within the business, ensuring the finance function can support both current operations and long-term planning. The CFO will also lead the development of robust management information, streamline systems and processes, and support the wider team in delivering the business plan. A steady, pragmatic approach is required someone comfortable in a hands-on environment, with the experience to professionalise the finance function without over-engineering it. This is a value-focused role , offering the opportunity to make a lasting impact through steady, well-managed transformation and financial discipline. The ideal candidate will: Be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or ACMA), preferably chartered. Have experience as a CFO or senior finance leader in a PE-backed or privately owned business, ideally within the B2B or services sectors. Demonstrate a strong track record in improving financial processes, controls, and reporting. Be commercially aware, with the ability to contribute to wider business planning and decision-making. Be a confident, hands-on leader with excellent communication skills and a collaborative, down-to-earth approach.
