Principal Business Case Assurance Manager - Aldermaston, Berkshire,RG7 4PRJob Type:Full-TimeSalary: £60000 - £68000 per annum + Every 2nd Friday off!We are looking for a Principal Business Case Assurance Manager to join our Assurance Team. Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. We will consider flexible working requests so that your work may fit in with your lifestyle. Salary Band starts at: £59,020 to £68,000 (Negotiable depending on experience) Introducing the Role:The Business Case Assurance Team, reporting to the CFO via the Finance Director, is crucial for investment approval and governance. They develop, implement, and manage the end-to-end business case assurance, collaborating with the business, PMO, and other functions to ensure robust business cases. The team provides guidance on the appropriate form of business case and supports the commissioning of assurance reviews. Depending on the value and lifecycle of the proposed investment, this may include an Integrated Assurance and Approvals Plan (IAAP), Strategic Outline Case (SOC), Outline Business Case (OBC), or Full Business Case (FBC), adhering to JSP655, HMT Green Book, and Managing Public Money principles. Key Responsibilities:Leading the team, providing line management, staff development, and upward reporting as needed.Maintaining and improving the business case assurance process, embedding it into AWE\\\'s ways of working.Enhancing the business case assurance pipeline, offering advice and guidance to stakeholders on the assurance process.Developing and rolling out a training and Learning from Experience (LFE) programme for all AWE staff and stakeholders involved in the production assurance and governance of business cases.Keeping and refining a self-assessment checklist for the business case assurance process to support both internal and external audit activities.Providing coordinated support to the business for drafting appropriate and proportionate IAAPs and setting up configuration control and audit.Developing and rolling out business case assurance data, reporting tools, and a management information dashboard to meet line management, customer, and stakeholder requirements.Engaging with assurance stakeholders proactively, ensuring you stay fully updated with the latest proposed business cases.Building and maintaining working relationships with AWE and DNO approvals and assurance, as well as the wider Defence assurance and scrutiny communities.Offering guidance and advice to project teams on the requirements and development of business cases, using organizational templates and the HMT 5 case model.Ensuring projects or activities have appropriate levels of assurance for their complexity, following local guidance on types of assurance activities and recording them in management documents as required.
