Category Manager Medical & Clinical Procurement Up to £55K South Birmingham Procurement professionals, are you ready for a role where your expertise can truly make an impact? We're looking for a Category Manager to take the lead on end-to-end tendering and strategic sourcing within clinical, medical, and surgical categories. What will you be doing? Managing the full end-to-end procurement process, from strategy development to contract award, within medical and clinical categories. Leading tendering activities, ensuring compliance with public sector procurement regulations. Working closely with stakeholders and clinical teams to develop robust category strategies that meet operational needs. Negotiating with suppliers and manufacturers to drive cost savings and ensure value for money. Managing supplier performance and contract compliance, identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency. Providing expert procurement advice, influencing decision-making, and ensuring best practices are followed. Qualifications & Experience A professional procurement qualification (e.g., CIPS). NHS or healthcare procurement experience is desirable but not essential. Proven ability to develop and implement category strategies, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost efficiencies while ensuring compliance with public sector procurement regulations. Strong background in category management, tendering, and contract law within a large organisation.
