Senior Building Services Engineer Location: London Salary: £65,000 + Benefits Job Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Services Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient performance of building services systems, delivering innovative maintenance engineering solutions that include and validating asset performance against building design strategies. As a key technical expert, you will oversee the implementation of unique building maintenance strategies, ensuring compliance with regulations, sustainability objectives, maintenance program mobilisation and operational best practices. Key Responsibilities Validating assets/system performance against building design strategy , identifying opportunities for optimisation and efficiency improvements. Provide expert technical leadership initially for a brand newly constructed building in Central London, including your team delivering maintenance of Critical MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) systems. Conduct performance analysis of building systems to ensure compliance with regulatory and sustainability standards. Lead and support engineering design reviews , offering strategic input to enhance building efficiency and resilience. Manage stakeholder engagement, working closely with architects, contractors, and facilities teams to deliver high-performing buildings. Ensure projects meet environmental and energy efficiency targets, contributing to net-zero carbon goals where applicable. Oversee compliance with fire safety regulations , ensuring integration of robust fire suppression and detection systems. Optimise power distribution networks , ensuring reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Evaluate and improve HVAC and cooling systems , implementing best practices for energy efficiency and thermal comfort. Assist in lifecycle planning for MEP assets, providing recommendations for upgrades, replacements, and improvements. Requirements Electrically or mechanically qualified Extensive experience in building services maintenance, asset performance validation, and asset management . Strong knowledge of fire safety engineering, power distribution systems, and cooling technologies . Excellent understanding of UK building regulations, British Standards, and sustainability frameworks Experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and contractor coordination . Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and sustainability.
