Location: Preston
Full Time or part time (20 hours per week)
Temp to perm
Pay rate is up to £15.90 an hour DOE
Must hold UK Driving Licence and have own car

School Staffing Solutions are looking for experienced an Team leader and Senior Residential Support Workers for an immediate start in Preston, PR3
Our client is a children’s home attached to a school that provides 52 and 38 week care to children and young people, aged 8 to 19 with a diagnosis of Autism and associated conditions. Many of the young people cared for have communication needs and may be assisted with SmartBox technology or other communication devices, now and next boards or PECs. All children registered at the care homes will access education at the on-site school provision.
This post involves responsibility for supporting our young people within the care home and supporting within the education provision where appropriate. The role is about ensuring that high standards are maintained in the context of supporting our young people to unlock their maximum potential.
Responsibilities include:
To provide a caring, supportive and nurturing environment in which children/young people can feel secure and free from harm.
Establishing positive relationships with young people and always offering them unconditional and positive regard.
Ensuring that each young person’s care plan is followed and amended as appropriate to reflect their changing needs 5. Attending to practical matters in relation to childcare (cooking, cleaning, general maintenance around the home etc)
To act as a key worker or co worker for a young person to ensure that the young person’s care plans are up to date and that all their care needs are being met. To provide a positive role model to be able to offer advice, guidance and assistance where appropriate.
Establishing relationships which young people perceive to be positive, warm and rewarding
Providing support for young people in their education and extracurricular activities, this may include supporting them in the classroom if necessary
Keeping accurate records and providing written reports on young people for planning meetings, reviews or any other meetings as directed by the line manager
About you:
Experience of delivering good quality care
Knowledge of learning disabilities and/or special needs including recent developments and person-centred planning
Knowledge of child/adult protection procedures
Previous experience of working with children and young people with autism and associated conditions is desirable.
Willingness to work towards Level 3 in Children’s social care if not already achieved on appointment to role
You must have legal right to work in the UK
