Primary Teaching Assistant  

TeacherActive are supporting one of our partner primary schools in Medway in seeking a caring, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team and provide tailored support to children in Year 2 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). 

The school are proud of their inclusive ethos and are looking for a Teaching Assistant who shares their passion for enabling every child to reach their full potential. You will work closely with class teachers, our SENDCo and external professionals to deliver high-quality support, both 1:1 and in small group settings. 

Key Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant: 

Support children with a range of SEND needs, including ASD, ADHD and speech and language difficulties 

Help create a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment 

Adapt learning activities to suit individual needs and promote independence 

Track and record pupil progress and provide feedback to the teaching team 

Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff 

We’re looking for a Teaching Assistant who: 

Has experience supporting children with SEND  

Is patient, empathetic and enthusiastic 

Works well as part of a team and uses initiative 

Has strong communication skills and a positive attitude 

Is committed to inclusive education and child-centred learning
