Shift Maintenance Electrician

We are currently recruiting for a shift Electrical Maintenance Engineer for our manufacturing client in Bishop Auckland.
Working on a shift pattern of 6-6 days and nights you'll be the shift electrical maintenance technician dealing with breakdown and PPM's. The shift pattern gives a 3 day weekend every other week. You'll be working alongside 2 mechanical fitters completing all maintenance on shift.
What You’ll Do
Install and or maintain all electrical & electro-mechanical plant or machinery in line with Company requirements
Operate a preventative electrical maintenance system to ensure that the plant & machinery are in good working order
Fault find and repair any electrical or electro-mechanical related problems on the plant or equipment
Fault Find on Siemens & other PLC equipment
Use various types of testing equipment in order to locate and remedy faults in the shortest possible time
Ensure that all plant and machinery is kept in a good working and clean condition
Assist with the installation of new plant equipment
Maintain and monitor the machines and equipment to enable them to achieve their budgeted outputs at the required quality levels
Promote Lean thinking and actively look for ways to improve your efficiency
Be aware of the effect that maintenance changes can have on product quality
Ensure that all quality issues are dealt with immediately as per agreed procedures
What You'll Bring
ONC/BTEC – HNC/BTEC or equivalent in Electrical engineering
Electrical Engineering or similar apprenticeship with relevant experience is essential
17th / 18th edition qualified
Experience of working in a manufacturing environment is essential
Good communicator with team skills
Sound knowledge of Siemens PLC’s – s7 TIA portal
Excellent analytical & fault finding / problem solving skills
Good knowledge of electric motors / pneumatics
Good sound mechanical skills
Working within a multi skilled team
Experience of working in a Safety-First culture
Ability to work on one’s own and make necessary judgments
Hours of work: 6.00am to 6.00pm days and nights shift on a variation of continental shift pattern £49000/annum
