About the Role - Fairhurst is excited to announce that we are expanding our team in Newcastle and are on the lookout for a passionate Senior Town Planner. As a leading planning consultancy, we work with an impressive range of public and private sector clients, providing expert advice and securing planning permissions for high-profile development projects across the UK. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with clients to understand their planning needs and guide them through the planning process. Lead and manage a vast range of projects and clients. Prepare and submit planning applications, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies. Work on Planning projects in various regimes, such as Marine, Environmental, Renewable and Major Infrastructure. Engage with stakeholders, local authorities, and communities to advocate for projects. Conduct thorough assessments to support Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA). Manage EIA projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to standards. Stay current with planning legislation, policy updates, and best practices in the field. What We re Looking For Relevant qualifications in planning and at least 3+ years experience Preferably Chartered with the RTPI Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team. A proactive approach to problem-solving and project management. Work and mentor junior staff Experience in planning consultancy or EIA management is desirable A commitment to sustainability and responsible development.
