Your new role As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be part of our expanding UK team working on healthcare projects across the UK and internationally. You will focus on technical delivery excellence and developing a strong understanding of client needs. Your key responsibilities include: Leading and managing a team of Mechanical Engineers, collaborating with other engineering disciplines such as structural, electrical, and public health engineers. Enhancing the profile and reputation of Ramboll and our UK Healthcare Team. Developing and overseeing mechanical concepts and designs. Performing detailed design work to industry standards and completing calculations using software like Hevacomp, MagiCad, IES, Revit, etc. Inspiring and motivating engineers and technicians on your projects. Representing Ramboll at project meetings with clients and collaborators. Supporting key accounts and developing relationships with new clients. Contributing to sector business development strategies. Implementing best practices to deliver sustainable, zero-carbon, innovative, and high-quality advisory and design services. Managing your projects and acting as a project manager for MEP or mechanical engineering tasks, including resource allocation and task coordination. About you We support your personal and professional growth from day one. For this role, the following qualifications, skills, and capabilities are essential: Proven experience in mechanical design engineering on UK projects, especially complex, high-resilience, or healthcare buildings. Experience leading discipline or project teams fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture. Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline. Membership of MCIBSE, MIMechE, or MIHEEM and proficiency in digital design tools like Revit/BIM 360. Strong project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects of varying complexity. Understanding of project risks both technical and commercial. Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex concepts clearly to clients and teams. Ability to motivate and inspire confidence internally and externally across borders. Ability to work independently on all technical aspects of the discipline.
