SEND Support Assistants Wanted North Tyneside Primary Schools\n Full-Time Term-Time Only Through Protocol Education\n\nAre you resilient, compassionate, and ready to make a difference where it matters most?\n\nWe re looking for dedicated SEND Support Assistants to work in primary schools across North Tyneside. These full-time, term-time only roles are both rewarding and challenging supporting children with complex needs, many of whom struggle with emotional regulation, speech and language difficulties, and may sometimes display physical or verbal outbursts when overwhelmed.\n\nThis is a role for someone who:\n\nStays calm and consistent, even under pressure\n\nCan set boundaries with kindness and confidence\n\nUnderstands that behaviour is communication\n\nIs patient and creative in helping children develop language and communication skills\n\nFeels comfortable supporting children 1:1 and in small groups\n\nIs committed to being a steady, positive presence every day\n\nThe following backgrounds and experience are highly valued:\n\nPsychology, childhood studies, or education graduates\n\nExperienced care workers or support workers\n\nThose with a background in residential care, youth work, or social work\n\nIndividuals with experience supporting people with autism, ADHD, or speech and language needs\n\nPeople with personal or voluntary experience supporting individuals with SEND\n\nYou ll work closely with school staff, SENCOs, and external specialists to ensure each child receives the tailored support they need to thrive.\n\nWhat you ll receive through Protocol Education:\n\nOngoing CPD and specialist training opportunities\n\nA dedicated consultant who understands your strengths and goals\n\nOpportunities that match your background and career ambitions\n\nThe chance to truly make a lasting impact on the lives of children who need it most\n\nIf you re up for a challenge and passionate about helping children with additional needs feel seen, heard, and supported we want to hear from you.\n\nApply now and start your journey supporting the pupils who need you most.\n\nAll applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
