Job Description School Support Assistant James Gillespie s High School Salary: £24,909 - £25,116 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional) Hours: 30 per week, 40 weeks sessional James Gillespie s High School is looking for a part time School Support Assistant. \n James Gillespie s High School is in the Marchmont area of Edinburgh. A fully co-ed comprehensive since the 1970s, we are also home to Edinburgh s Ard-Sgoil (Gaelic Secondary). \n James Gillespie s 18th century vision for inclusion and high-quality education endures and continues in the new school campus which was completed in August 2016, and continues in our school values today- Respect, Kindness, Integrity, Inclusion and High Expectations. \n The post holder will assist in a range of tasks relating to the care and welfare of pupils, plus the administration and organisation of resources and documentation. \n The successful candidate must work well under pressure, enjoy working with people, and have very strong organisational and time-management skills. A first-aid certificate and prior experience in schools is beneficial. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check.
