Salary range :£26,942 - £29,959 \n FTE : 1.0 (35 hours per week) \n Term : Open \n Closing date : 2 May 2025 \n The University s award-winning Conferencing & Events team is responsible for the promotion and operation of the dedicated conferencing facilities within the Technology & Innovation Centre (TIC), Strathclyde s flagship events venue, as well as the delivery of University corporate events and hospitality. \n \nIn academic year 2023/24, almost 47,000 delegates attended over 600 events hosted in TIC. Strathclyde s commercial conferencing activity generated income in excess of £2.7M, returning a surplus of more than £600K to the University and helping to drive strategic collaboration between academia, research, and industry. \n Working within the Business Development team, the Sales & Marketing Co-ordinator plays a critical role in the promotion and delivery of commercial conferencing and event activity, providing effective administrative support to the commercial Conferencing & Events team generally, and to the Business Development function specifically. \n \nTheir duties include (but are not limited to): \n Responding to all new enquiries promptly, professionally and consistently, and taking small to medium-sized bookings to contract and handover. \n Overseeing the building s Occupant Room Use policy. \n Implementing a range of sales & marketing activities across web, social media and offline content. \n Compiling monthly performance data, including customer feedback. \n Other activities supportive of effective business development and event delivery, such as supporting best use of software solutions and industry/sectoral benchmarking. \n Contributing to the ongoing development of the business and its product offering. \n Providing operational support for event delivery in TIC and elsewhere on campus. \n \nThe role is essential in driving commercial revenue and delivering first-class customer experience that the University s Conferencing & Events team has developed over more than 10 years.
