Risk Director The Risk Director will provide expert professional leadership for the development, delivery and continuous improvement of risk management and governance across the business. They will act in a formal capacity for the business in roles relating to the risk framework development and implementation, data protection which includes DPO, SIRO and Caldicott Guardian and as a senior leader in the organisation developing a strong risk culture. The job holder will lead the company in delivering best practice and excellence as well as ensuring compliance in all relevant aspects of the business and environment, including social and environmental matters, diversity and inclusion and information governance. About Us HBSUK works alongside Trusts to provide cost-effective insourcing solutions through a full range of services. At HBSUK we provide capacity solutions, resourcing, triage services, pathway redesigns, private market opportunities, as well as portfolio management and consultancy services. Virtual Lucy combines our extensive clinical network with modern technology to ensure that patients get the best out of their journey to recovery. We design streamline patient- centric pathways that are evidence-based and effective. The patients journey starts with self-referral via our digital triage expert followed by an online appointment booking with the correct specialist from our extensive network of clinicians. Responsibilities Be accountable for the development and delivery of the corporate risk management framework, the company risk appetite statements, the standards and compliance framework, external accreditations and audits and establishing appropriate objectives and measure for risk and governance within HBS. The post holder will support the CEO and other Senior Leadership Team members to shape and deliver the risk and compliance agenda which includes the aspects of change that are essential to realise and deliver all the company s risk objectives Work closely with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to ensure delivery of the agreed governance systems and overall compliance with all applicable regulatory standards and policy and to ensure risk and related matters are reported and understood including the provision of information for annual reporting. Have accountability for HBSUK s organisational risk register and risks appetites, and to ensure that they are updated on a frequent basis, have an appropriate list of risk mitigants and controls with management information that determines their performance and has actions in place to remediate any risks that remain above risk appetite Provide guidance on business continuity planning and operational resilience, and will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team in terms of their responsibility for emergency planning response and preparedness Direct the efforts of all quality, social, environmental and improvement initiatives to ensure overall compliance with all applicable regulatory and statutory standards and policies; they will advise and act as a subject matter expert on all matters related to corporate risk and governance. Their remit also includes oversight, publication and maintenance of policies, processes and procedures, ensuring all functions are compliant with ISO requirements. This also includes responsibility for company knowledge management systems (used for internal and external documentation and comms). Have accountability for oversight of compliance for all internal audit activity. They will be responsible for the appointment and management of all outsourced internal audit activity, and for reviewing the requirements for and then providing supporting structures for delivering all required governance. Such activity to extend to any collaborative partners and suppliers to the business. Will be accountable for the risk management and legal processing aspects of data governance e.g. compliance with GDPR/DPA2018 and will have specific data responsibilities including Caldicott Guardian, Data Protection Officer (DPO) and Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) Provide Input and support to business tenders and sales / client activity, covering matters specifically on corporate risk, accreditations and governance Be a key team member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) contributing to all company matters, and manage a team of risk, data governance and compliance subject matter experts to deliver the company s risk agenda Requirements Essential Education Educated to postgraduate degree level or equivalent experience Regulatory systems knowledge and experience including ISO9001, ISO27001, ISO13485, ISO14001 Auditing (lead assessor level) Proficient at using Microsoft packages and industry standards tools Experience A proven track record of governance, principles of business conduct and risk management. An expert strategic planner and evaluator, capability of implementing robust systems of internal & external control via confident communication and reporting. An experienced and driven senior executive who has contributed to the development of, and delivered on, cross organisational strategic objectives via collaborative consultation with internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of NHS and healthcare systems Very detailed forensic level data analysis and interpretation Process and people focussed with ability to facilitate workshops Ability to influence staff and stakeholders at all levels Assertive, with presence with a high degree of tenacity and integrity Exemplary communication skills - both verbally and written. Solution focused, with the ability to resolve complex problems and coach others to find solutions. Desirable Education Higher level qualifications desirable EFQM assessor or assessment experience Experience Knowledge and application of DFOCVC, DTAC, DSPT Knowledge and experience of corporate social responsibility, environmental standards, social and sustainability systems Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of regulatory processes including CQC and MHRA Salary This role will go up to 100k per annum depending on experience and skills.
