Full training provided and access to nationally recognised vocational qualifications Report to: Deputy ManagerAccountable to: Registered ManagerContract Type: Permanent My client is recruiting for a Residential Childcare Practitioners for a Specialist Children EBD Home that have strong growth plans in place. If you are a Residential Childcare Practitioners who is now looking for a new and exciting challenge, then this could be the role for you. Role PurposeThe overall purpose of the role is to provide high quality care and support to young people who are looked after away from their familial home. Our homes operate within the regulatory frameworks set within Children s Homes Regulations (England). Those we care for include children and young people who have experienced familial / foster / placement disruption, emotional / behavioural difficulties, or other significant disruption to their lives. Safeguarding through individual risk management planning for young people. Promoting positive social engagements / interaction, healthy relationships and building of trust in a safe and measured way, applying safeguarding principles throughout. Providing high levels of nurturing care underpinned by therapeutic parenting principles Supporting children and young people throughout their daily routines by accompanying, where necessary, and transporting to and from activities, school or learning environment, appointments, including family contact and providing supervision when required. Participating in activities with children and young people, encouraging engagement in education and positive and appropriate hobbies and interests. Preparing and supporting young people with tuition and homework. Maintaining a safe and clean home environment, including the completion of all domestic duties e.g. cleaning, cooking, washing and general housekeeping. Issuing domestic chore rota s and ensuring all tasks are undertaken in a safe, timely manner Lone working and as part of a wider professional team Maintaining confidentiality at all times, reporting directly to your line manager any information or concern in a timely manner. Participating in supervision, personal development plans and attend all mandatory and relevant training along with completion of diploma level 4 which is relevant to Children and young people s workforce. All within the given time constraints Ensure all aspects of daily / weekly reporting and recording is completed within the given time limits and in accordance with company policies and procedures. Ensure you are compliant with all Company Codes of Practice and respective regulatory bodies i.e. Ofsted and remain up to date with all company policies and procedures, relevant legislation, required codes of practice and including young person s paperwork, including care plans, risk assessments etc Act as a key worker to one or more young people, take the lead and responsibility for assessing the young person s needs, devising, implementing, co ordinating and reviewing care plans etc Ensure all paperwork is completed on time and filed according to requirements Carry out supervision reviews with RCP s on a regular basis and in line with the company s supervision protocols Qualification s, Skills and Experiences Working towards or completed Level 4 diploma in Children s and Young People workforce, Current, clean UK driving licence Enhanced DBS Right to Work in the UK Minimum 2 years experience in childcare or youth setting at RCP level and an understanding of the challenges young people and carers face within a residential care setting.
