We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced principal sustainability & climate change consultant to join our team. You ll be part of our collaborative and growing team across the UK and will help develop and deliver a pipeline of exciting and complex projects. We have a true enthusiasm for what we do. Responsibilities include: Working with client teams to identify opportunities for sustainable design measures and energy and carbon reduction initiatives, including hosting project workshops and attending meetings. Coordinating technical disciplines for early and effective incorporation of climate change within EIA. Highlighting impactful areas to influence decision-makers and foster improvements, while identifying value drivers. Preparing high-quality energy, sustainability, and climate change reports to advise clients and project teams, supporting planning and EIA applications. Managing data effectively, including setting up and maintaining project databases and calculation sheets. Participating in external expert forums to advance standardisation in environmental sustainability performance quantification. Training and upskilling junior team members on relevant workstreams and project management activities. Engaging in regional business development activities and sales generation. Qualifications and experience required: A relevant degree, such as BEng (Hons), BSc (Hons), or equivalent/higher. Background in environmental planning, EIA, climate change, DCO, town planning, urban planning, urban design, urbanism, placemaking, masterplanning, or public realm. Experienced project leader in a similar role. Significant knowledge of environmental impact assessments (EIA), with specific experience delivering sustainability and climate change expertise within Environmental Statements. Additional attributes that are desirable include: Chartership or membership of relevant technical institutions (e.g., RITP, RIBA, EI, IEMA, IEEM). Experience contributing to EIAs on NSIPs or DNSs. Experience in pre-application public consultations and stakeholder engagement.
