Our goal is to enable everyone to develop, give their best, and enjoy their work. About the role We are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Property Services team in Manchester. This role involves monitoring, optimizing, and creating value in building lifecycle management, with a focus on efficiency and reliability in changing environments. You will work across Residential, Commercial, and Healthcare sectors, collaborating with specialists in a team that values knowledge and engagement. Key responsibilities include: Securing projects and servicing clients, supporting regional planning and delivery. Leading and supervising team members and staff. Collaborating with other teams on various projects. Recruiting, training, and developing team talent. Designing, specifying, and monitoring projects. Monitoring commissioning and post-occupancy activities. Writing technical reports such as feasibility studies and surveys. Liaising with clients and managing project aspects. What You ll Be Doing You will manage a diverse portfolio of projects mainly in the UK, with some overseas opportunities. You will lead small projects up to a few million pounds and provide technical support to clients and stakeholders. The main services in Property Services include: Technical Due Diligence surveys and reports. Plant Replacement project works up to £3m, including design and project management. Design innovative solutions for existing buildings across RIBA stages. Maintenance / Operational inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, energy optimization. Sustainability and Energy Efficiency projects to reduce energy use and improve building ratings. Projects span sectors like Commercial, Retail, Residential, Education, Healthcare, and more. About you To succeed, you should be: Qualified or working towards chartered status. Experienced in refurbishment and fit-out projects. Excellent in English communication. Skilled in performance specifications, contract administration, and site duties. An all-round Building Services engineer. Technically knowledgeable in primary engineering disciplines.
