Social Worker - Children's Long Term Team - Newcastle City Council Do you want to make a lasting impact on the lives of children with complex needs? Newcastle City Council's Children's Long Term Team is seeking a passionate and experienced Social Worker to join their dedicated team. They are committed to providing high-quality, holistic support to children with long-term needs and their families, ensuring they receive the care and resources they need to thrive. About the Role: As a Social Worker in our Children's Long Term Team, you will work with a caseload of children and young people with a variety of complex needs, including those with disabilities, chronic health conditions, and those in the care system. You will: Conduct comprehensive assessments: You will identify the child's needs and their families, identifying strengths, challenges, and goals. Develop and implement individualised care plans: You will ensure tailored support is provided across different areas, including education, health, social care, and family well-being. Work closely with families: You will provide guidance, support, and advocacy to navigate the complexities of their child's needs. Collaborate effectively: You will work with a wide range of professionals, including health professionals, educators, and other agencies, to create a cohesive and integrated support network. Ensure the child's voice is heard: You will advocate for their needs and promote their best interests, ensuring their voice is heard and their rights are protected. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records: You will adhere to relevant legislation and policies. Who we're looking for: They are looking for a highly motivated and compassionate Social Worker with a strong understanding of the needs of children with long-term needs and their families. You will have: A recognised social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, BSC Social Work) A valid Social Work England registration Significant experience working with children with complex needs and their families. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and provide effective support. A deep understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding procedures. A genuine commitment to child-centered practice and promoting the well-being of children.
