Mechanical Technician Your new company Our client is one of the UK's leading port and logistics companies, with ambitious plans for substantial capital investment over the next five years. Your new role As a Mechanical Technician, you will: Proactively maintain and operate plant and equipment Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and compliance requirements Maximise equipment effectiveness and efficiency Conduct regular checks and servicing for preventative maintenance Report faults or defects promptly Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems (pumps, hydraulic systems, bridges, dock gates, etc.) What you'll need to succeed You should have: Mechanical engineering background, preferably in heavy industry Experience with hydraulic equipment, pumps, lock gates, bridges, and PLC equipment Willingness to participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours maintenance Ability to uphold health and safety standards, create Risk Assessments and Method Statements Understanding of Permit to Work systems Experience with CMMS systems and fault reporting Knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and legislation (Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, PUWER, LOLER, PSSR) What you'll get in return Our client offers: Competitive salary 27 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) Up to 10% matched contribution pension Flexible benefits (salary sacrifice car scheme, healthcare cash plans, Cycle2Work Scheme, Critical Illness insurance, Gym Membership Scheme, Retail Vouchers) Commitment to learning and personal development (over 50,000 hours of training supported last year) Support for physical and mental health via Employee Assistance Programme What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
