Manufacturing Engineer £40,000 - £48,000 Per Annum Permanent, Full Time 8am 4pm Monday to Friday Industrial Manufacturing, Forging Processes Leicester Job ID: 35721 Our client are a supplier of bespoke components to major OEM s and Tier-1 suppliers and are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer, specialising in the development of forging processes, to join their growing Manufacturing Engineering department. This Manufacturing Engineer position is a great opportunity to join a global manufacturing force and will play a critical role in developing and optimising manufacturing processes within a high precision manufacturing environment. Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities Develop, implement, and optimise forging processes for superalloy fasteners, including hot and cold forging techniques Specify and commission forging dies, tooling, and equipment to meet demanding aerospace standards Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, quality, and production to ensure efficient and repeatable manufacturing processes Produce detailed process documentation including routings, work instructions, and standard operating procedures Investigate and resolve production issues through structured root cause analysis and corrective action implementation Lead process capability studies and support FMEAs and other risk assessment activities Identify and deliver cost reduction, yield improvement, and quality enhancement initiatives Support capital projects and new equipment introduction for forging operations Provide technical support and training to shop floor personnel Manufacturing Engineer Skills/Experience Degree qualified in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (Alternatively, apprentice trained with extensive relevant experience) Strong background in forging processes, ideally within a high-specification sector such as aerospace or defence Familiarity with superalloys Solid understanding of materials behaviour, deformation processes, and heat treatment Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications Knowledge of aerospace quality standards such as AS9100 and NADCAP Strong problem-solving capabilities and a hands-on approach Lean/Six Sigma knowledge or certification Manufacturing Engineer Benefits Bonus Scheme Private healthcare Enhanced pension schemes available Life Assurance Cycle Scheme and membership discounts Annual health check Sports & Social events Embracing diversity in all its forms, our client is an equal-opportunity employer.
