The Corporate Finance M&A practice is an innovative, award winning team, regularly closing high profile cross-border sell-side, buy-side and finance raising transactions, supporting a range of clients from high growth businesses to multinational listed companies. Our dynamic and diverse team consists of c. 100 individuals of varying professional backgrounds, including bankers, accountants, industry professionals and consultants. Working with us will entail both formal and on the job learning from sector experts, which will help you to develop the skills needed to become an effective advisor. This is a rare opportunity for a candidate to join a market-leading, entrepreneurial team working across sectors including Consumer Products and Retail, Energy and Infrastructure, Technology Media and Telecommunications, Healthcare and Life Sciences, Real Estate and mid-market, based in locations across the UK including London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bristol and Birmingham. We offer a flexible working structure including job shares and hybrid office and home working. Key highlights of the M&A cluster include: Completing on 43 deals in the first half of 2021 with a combined deal value of £21bn Commitment to the Diversity and Inclusiveness agenda, fostering a culture of belonging and pursuing a range of initiatives which attract and retain a wide pool of talent to our business Recognised through awards including Mergermarket European Mid-Market Financial Adviser of the Year Award 2023 Advising on a number of high-profile, innovative and pioneering deals including: the sale of Ritter Courivaud, as a carve-out from Tesco/Booker Plc to Musgrave Group the sale of Fencor Packaging to VPK Packaging; and the sale of Adare SEC to Mail Metrics. Your key responsibilities Support in the preparation of transaction marketing materials and other client deliverables; Valuation analysis and calculation using market practice methodology, including undertaking sensitivity/scenario analysis; analysis of financial data Deal management and management of key stakeholders on projects, including other advisors Commercial and financial advice on key contracts forming part of the transaction, and negotiation with project stakeholders Support in the development and maintenance of client relationships, including pitch/proposal preparation, presentation to clients, origination and marketing initiatives and account pursuit To qualify for the role you must have High degree of personal drive and motivation to enhance your own knowledge and succeed Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; highly competent in Microsoft Office Strong quantitative and analytical skills (financial modelling capability is also favoured) Ability to build effective working relationships with individuals, organisations and clients, whilst working under pressure, across multiple projects and to tight deadlines Educated to degree level Ideally, you'll also have Prior experience of working in and/or a passion for M&A practice, which may also include specific sectors within transactions Committed to business development and able to identify opportunities to deliver the best value. Advanced professional financial qualification (e.g. ACA, CFA, MBA.) What we look for We are looking for people join our sector and regional teams across our M&A cluster.
