Locum Democratic Services Officer East Midlands £25 per hour Umbrella Full Time Location: East Midlands, UK Hourly Rate: £25 per hour Umbrella (with potential for flexibility) Contract Duration: Initial 3 months with potential for extension Working Arrangement: Full-time (preferred), hybrid working with office attendance required for committee meetings (approx. once per week) An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Democratic Services Officer with a local authority in the East Midlands . This role is pivotal in supporting the democratic processes within the Council, and the successful candidate will be joining a dynamic team on a full-time or part-time locum basis. Key Responsibilities: Proficient in the use of Mod.Gov (essential requirement). Preparation and distribution of meeting agendas, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Attendance at committee meetings (including Council, Policy, and Scrutiny meetings) to provide procedural support. Minute-taking at meetings, ensuring accurate capture of key discussions and decisions. Elections support experience (not essential but advantageous), as assistance may be required during the upcoming elections. Ideal Candidate: Previous experience in a Democratic Services role, particularly with local government, is highly desirable. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and minute-taking skills.
