The Electoral Commission have an exciting opportunity for a Legislation Manager to join their team. Job Title: Legislation Manager Location: Our London, Cardiff, Edinburgh or Belfast office locations (Hybrid - 3 Days WFH) or completely remote (homebased) Salary: £51,024 - £53,575 per annum DOE Plus London £3,217 allowance Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Close Date: 20th April About Us: The Electoral Commission is the independent body which oversees elections and regulates political finance in the UK. We re here to ensure the UK s elections are well-run and the public have confidence in democratic processes. Legislation Manager - The Role: This role offers a unique opportunity to join a small, dedicated team managing the Commission s response to electoral reform legislation across the UK. The postholder will use project management tools to track risks and interdependencies while liaising with Government officials to ensure accurate, up-to-date legislative planning. Legislation Manager - Key Responsibilities: - Coordinate responses to draft legislation and provide support and challenge to UK governments - Use project management tools to track risks, issues, and interdependencies - Develop plans to support electoral stakeholders in implementing legislative changes Plan voter-facing initiatives, including public awareness campaigns and partnerships - Implement engagement strategies for internal and external stakeholders. - Maintain relationships with key electoral stakeholders to ensure accurate and up-to-date information - Implement an engagement strategy for internal and external stakeholders at each legislative stage - Maintain key stakeholder relationships to ensure accurate communication of legislative plans and assumptions Legislation Manager - You: - Good first degree or equivalent work experience - Experience of managing and delivering work through formal project management methodologies - Good IT skills, able to use MS Word, Excel and internet and capacity to learn new applications - Experience of working within matrix-management structures to deliver successful outcomes - Experience working with lawyers and framing requests for legal advice, plus familiarity with legislative procedures Legislation Manager - Benefits: The Electoral Commission offers a competitive mix of benefits including: - A culture of flexible working, such as flexi scheme, homeworking and compressed hours - Automatic enrolment into the Civil Service Pension Scheme, with an employer contribution of 28.97% - A working from home allowance of £312 per annum is paid as a tax free working from home allowance - A minimum of 28 days of paid annual leave, plus 8 bank holidays increasing up to a maximum of 30 days after 4 years - An extensive range of learning & professional development opportunities, which all staff are actively encouraged to pursue - Eye care vouchers, Ride 2 Work and an opportunity to sell up to 5 days annual leave at the end of the annual leave period - A hybrid office/home based working model where staff will spend a norm of 40% of their time in the office Application Process: We want to attract the broadest range of talented people who are passionate about democracy.
