Meraki Talent are supporting a global investment bank who are looking to appoint a Legal Counsel professional in Glasgow.Are you a talented legal professional with a passion for the fast-paced world of banking and payments?We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide expert legal advice and support to our growing banking and payments operations. Key Responsibilities: Provide legal advice on regulatory compliance, payment systems, banking operations, and financial products. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to banking services, payment solutions, and partnerships. Ensure compliance with local and international banking and payments regulations Advise on matters relating to fintech, digital currencies, electronic money, and emerging financial technologies. Liaise with regulators, external legal counsel, and other key stakeholders on legal and compliance matters. Support the business in structuring transactions, product development, and risk mitigation strategies. Stay updated on legal and regulatory developments in the banking and payments industry to ensure compliance and strategic alignment. Qualifications & Skills: Qualified solicitor or lawyer 3-5+ years of experience in banking, payments, or financial services law. Strong knowledge of banking regulations, payments law, and financial technology. Experience working with regulatory bodies, financial institutions, or fintech companies. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and commercial awareness. Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and prioritize effectively.
