Background The School of Policy and Global Affairs is an excellent international centre of research and learning on the human condition. It is home to over 2,500 students and 100 staff across three departments: Economics, Sociology and Criminology, and International Politics. The Department of Economics is a research and education hub, specializing in microeconomics, health, behavioural and public economics. Over 90% of our research output and over 80% of our impact are rated as internationally excellent. We offer research-led education to 1,500 students at undergraduate and post-graduate level, focusing on employability, transferable skills, and social mobility. Responsibilities The Department is seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the field of health economics, with particular interest in economic evaluation and health technology assessment. The successful candidate will be integral to the Department and City Health Economics Centre, strengthening current and establishing new collaborations. Candidates should have a demonstrable ability to produce world-leading research, attract external funding, engage with a wide variety of stakeholders, and deliver outstanding education, as well as supervising students and contributing to administrative duties at various levels. Person Specification Applicants should have a PhD in Economics, Health Economics or related fields at the time of appointment. Applicants should have or show ability for world-leading research output, successful external grant capture and substantive plans for new research and external funding agenda. Similarly, applicants should have experience or ability to designing and deliver excellent quality teaching and supervision at both UG and PG levels.
