Salary scale :£37174 - £45413 \n FTE : 1.0 (35 hours per week) \n Term : Fixed (12 months) \n Closing date : 16 May 2025 \n Two vacancies have arisen whilst members of staff are on maternity leave and applications are now invited from candidates seeking an exciting and challenging role for a period of approximately 12 months, starting from July 2025 (exact dates to be confirmed). \n \nAs HR Adviser, you will provide professional advice and support on a broad range of generalist HR issues to a dedicated Faculty area, including recruitment and selection and employee relations, and will contribute to University-wide activities such as policy development, engagement with trade unions, committees, HR projects and working groups. \n \nTo be considered for the role, you will be educated to degree level, or have equivalent relevant experience, and be CIPD qualified. You will have a proven track record of working in HR at a professional level as well as successfully and independently handling an HR casework portfolio, including disciplinary and grievance investigations and hearings, as well as resolving informal issues. You will have knowledge and experience of pay and reward systems including job evaluation and equal pay compliance, experience of supporting restructuring activities and consulting and negotiating with trade unions. You will have an ability to successfully adopt a consultancy style and an HR business partnering approach, have a well-developed knowledge of relevant HR best practice and employment legislation, an ability to interpret relevant University policies, employment legislation and good practice and apply it independently to complex cases. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to persuade, influence and articulate complex information in an accessible way, and present to a range of audiences. \n \nReporting to the relevant HR Manager, you will operate largely independently within a busy environment, dealing with diverse stakeholders on a range of HR matters, To be successful in this role, a flexible, problem-solving approach is essential to meeting the demands of the posts. \n \nIf you are a customer focused, service-oriented HR professional with the drive to provide the best HR service to your client group, then we would love to hear from you. \n \nThe post is available on a full-time basis and will be located within our city centre campus.
