Housing Litigation Solicitor North West / Hybrid Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Are you a Housing Solicitor with at least 2 years post-qualification experience, looking to develop your career in a thriving and supportive legal team? This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a respected firm that specialises in housing law, where you ll manage a diverse caseload, act on behalf of both private and public sector clients, and be involved in high-quality litigation work. The Role: As a key member of the housing litigation team, you ll take ownership of your own caseload and provide expert advice and representation across a range of residential landlord and tenant disputes. Key responsibilities include: Managing a caseload of defended possession claims, rent arrears, and housing litigation matters. Advising on and handling contested proceedings, including counterclaims with particular emphasis on small claims and fast-track litigation. Acting in disputes involving unlawful eviction, disrepair, non-compliance with tenancy deposit rules, and tenant harassment. Applying detailed knowledge of housing legislation, court procedures, and the Pre-Action Protocol for Housing Disrepair. Working closely with landlords, managing agents, and housing associations to deliver practical legal solutions. Drafting pleadings, preparing witness statements, and attending court hearings where required. Engaging in ongoing case strategy discussions with senior colleagues and contributing to team development. What We re Looking For: A qualified Solicitor (2+ years PQE) with solid experience in housing litigation or landlord and tenant law. Strong technical knowledge, particularly around possession proceedings, tenancy breaches, and housing disrepair claims. Excellent drafting and advocacy skills, with confidence handling your own caseload with minimal supervision. Effective communicator with a client-centred approach and the ability to build strong working relationships. Organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines. Experience advising housing associations or local authorities is desirable, though not essential.
