Financial Controller Location: (within 20mile radius of Skipton, North Yorkshire) - Home based, with some travelling. We value every individual as part of the team and they are key to the success of the people we support and the organization Role Overview We are seeking a high-calibre Financial Controller to lead our financial operations and support strategic decision-making. This is a hands-on role in a dynamic environment, ideal for someone with a strong foundation in financial management and a passion for continuous improvement. You will report directly to the CFO and manage a Management Accountant, taking ownership of all aspects of management accounts, budgeting, and finance process optimisation. Key Responsibilities Prepare and deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts with insightful commentary. Lead the annual budgeting process, reforecasts, and cash flow planning. Develop, implement, and enhance financial processes and internal controls to support a scaling business. Ensure integrity and accuracy of financial data, providing analysis and insights to support business decisions. Drive automation and reporting improvements using Excel, Power Query, and other tools . Partner with operational teams to understand cost drivers and improve financial performance. Manage and develop one Management Accountant, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. Support the CFO with ad-hoc analysis, board reporting, and strategic finance projects. Skills & Experience Required ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent). Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or similar role in a growing, fast-paced business ideally in care, healthcare, or service-led sectors. Exceptional Excel skills must be confident with advanced formulas, dynamic arrays, and Power Query . Strong understanding of management accounting, budgeting, and financial planning. Experience implementing or improving finance systems and processes. Able to thrive in a lean, agile environment with a hands-on approach. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to collaborate across functions. Commercially savvy with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
