Financial Controller – Loughborough - £60,000 – £70,000 We’re working with a fast-growing organisation to appoint a Financial Controller. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially-minded finance professional to step into a broad, business-facing role in a private equity-backed group with a strong performance track record and ambitious growth plans. The Role This is not a siloed reporting role. As Financial Controller, you'll be responsible for leading a small finance team, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and a smooth month-end process. You'll also oversee transactional finance and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.What sets this opportunity apart is the emphasis on commercial finance and business partnering. You'll work closely with operational leaders to provide clear financial insight, help shape decisions, and drive performance. This includes translating financial data into actionable commentary and supporting teams in understanding their numbers and accountabilities.The role will also offer involvement in systems and process improvements, as well as supporting financial planning at group level. It's ideally suited to someone seeking a balanced mix of control and commercial work, with a clear pathway to future senior leadership. About You We’re looking for a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience. A background in practice whether Big Four or mid-tier is essential, and you’ll likely have made the move into industry or be looking to do so.You should bring: Strong technical understanding and attention to detail Experience managing or mentoring junior team members Proven ability to communicate with and influence non-finance stakeholders An interest in how finance contributes to broader business outcomes A proactive mindset and appetite to improve processes and add value This role suits someone who enjoys taking ownership, engaging cross-functionally, and influencing change not just closing the books.
