Early Years Teaching Assistant (School Nursery)\n Location: East Leeds\n Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Term Time Only\n\nAre you passionate about supporting young children in their early years of education? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!\n\nWe are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our clients school nursery in East Leeds. As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting children's learning and development in a nurturing and safe environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nAssist in the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities to promote the educational, social, and emotional development of children aged 2-5 years.\n Provide targeted support for children with speech and language difficulties. Help with language development through structured activities, one-to-one interventions, and small group work.\nDeliver 1:1 intervention to children with additional learning needs, ensuring that each child receives tailored support to reach their full potential.\nSupport children in developing social skills, independence, and self-regulation in a safe and supportive environment. Encourage positive behaviour and work collaboratively with the team to ensure the children's well-being.\nAssist in setting up and tidying the classroom, ensuring resources are available and organised. Support children with self-care, such as toileting and handwashing.\nWork alongside teachers and parents to ensure the child's progress is communicated and well-supported. Participate in parents' evenings, meetings, and collaborative planning.Essential Requirements:\n\nLevel 2 or Level 3 Childcare Qualification (or equivalent) is essential.\nExperience working with children in an early years setting, especially with children aged 2-5 years.\nKnowledge of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework and its application in a school nursery setting.\nExperience with speech and language development is highly desirable.\nAbility to manage small groups and provide 1:1 intervention in a calm and supportive manner.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.\nA good understanding of the importance of inclusive education and supporting children with additional needs.Desirable:\n\nExperience in providing 1:1 interventions for children with additional learning needs or speech and language difficulties.\nFirst Aid Qualification (training can be provided).Why Join Us?\n\nTerm-time working: Enjoy a work-life balance with school holidays off.\nBe part of a dedicated and supportive team that values professional development and growth.\nOpportunity to work in a well-resourced nursery setting within a school.\nSupport for ongoing training and development in early years education.If you are ready to make a positive impact in the lives of young children and join a friendly, supportive team, we would love to hear from you!\n\nAPPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR VERITAS EDUCATION\n\nAll applications are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, professional reference checks, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) in line with our stringent safeguarding policy\nYour CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and all employment breaks must be explained\nYou must have legal right to work in the UK\nYou must be willing to attend a registration interviewVeritas Education work with a variety of schools covering a wide geographical area.
