This is an exciting time to join Bury Council. An opportunity to lead our education, skills and early years services to support children and young people thrive, empowering them to reach their full potential and access the many opportunities that our fantastic borough has to offer. Bury is at the heart of the growth agenda in Greater Manchester and we want to ensure our young people are equipped to access the education, employment and cultural opportunities that this brings. We want our residents to lead healthy and fulfilling lives, and this all starts by ensuring all children have access to the best early years and education opportunities, irrespective of their background. Our LET s Do IT strategy sets a clear vision and direction for the borough, underpinned by a shared ambition and set of goals. As Director of Early Years, Education and Skills, you will ensure that young children are school ready through high quality early years provision that is aligned with our education strategy. You will work with school leaders to develop a whole system approach that recognises different organisational structures but operates with a common vision delivering the best learning experience for our young people that is inclusive to all and supports those who need additional help to access the right setting for them. We seek an experienced leader who can respond to new government policy and address the challenges that we face in ensuring our SEND provision delivers what our children deserve. In Bury, we acknowledge our challenges, but we have a track record of responding to them; through our shared commitment and your leadership, we will ensure our children and young people have the best start. LET S Do It! for the Young People of Bury. For a conversation about the role, please contact GatenbySanderson Philip Emms (07590 225472) or Alex Hayes (07586 715 843). Closing Date: Thursday 1st May.
