Job Title: Electrical Design Manager Location: Nottingham (with travel as required) Salary: From £65,000 + Benefits An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled and driven Electrical Design Manager with expertise in High Voltage (HV) or Power Earthing to lead a dedicated Electrical Design team based in Nottingham . This role is ideal for either an experienced Electrical Design Manager seeking a new challenge or a Senior Electrical Design Engineer looking for the next step in their career. The Role Reporting to the Engineering Manager , the Electrical Design Manager will be responsible for: Leading the design and analysis of earthing systems using various software tools to ensure accuracy and compliance. Managing and overseeing an in-house design and engineering team , ensuring a streamlined approach to systems engineering. Ensuring the on-time completion of design projects in line with client, safety, cost, and environmental requirements . Collaborating with external engineering consultants , delegating work packages where necessary to complement in-house capabilities. Liaising with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) to ensure all designs meet relevant industry standards. Managing technical aspects and ensuring all engineering deliverables are provided on schedule during project acquisition and execution phases. Taking accountability for the quality and technical integrity of design solutions, ensuring cost-effective and efficient outcomes. What You ll Need Proven experience as an Electrical Design Manager with a strong understanding of electrical power distribution . In-depth knowledge of HV and LV design solutions and their practical implementation. Relevant engineering qualifications (BEng / MEng in Electrical, Civil, or Process Engineering preferred). Experience in earthing system analysis . Strong commercial awareness , with the ability to negotiate, influence, and build strong client relationships. A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills. A full, valid driving license is required, with occasional travel as necessary.
