Data Strategy Lead - Tourism & Arts South West London (Kingston Upon Thames) up to £63,000 per year Hybrid (2 days per week in office) About the Organisation Our client is a leading cultural institution, committed to connecting people with history, stories, and experiences in new and inclusive ways. The Role As Data Strategy Lead, (Internal grading: Senior Manager) you ll build and lead a new in-house data function. From creating a centralised data warehouse to embedding analytics into marketing, operations, and membership strategy. You ll be at the centre of the organisation s shift toward insight-driven decision-making. You ll lead a small team and be the go-to voice for data across the organisation, acting as both a strategic advisor and a cultural change agent. This isn t just a reporting role, but a chance to create something lasting. You can shape how a beloved institution measures impact, connects with new audiences, and plans for the future. You ll Be Responsible For Defining and leading a data strategy aligned to organisational goals, acting as the primary advocate for insight-driven decisions, with execs, trustees, and internal teams Managing a new team (Data Analyst and Data Engineer) Leading the rollout of a new cloud-based data warehouse, with support from external partners Championing the use of data across marketing, membership, eCommerce, sustainability and operations Embedding data governance, compliance, and best practices Who We re Looking For Strong leadership experience within data, analytics or strategy functions Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, especially with non-technical audiences Experience implementing or managing modern data platforms and cloud environments (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP) Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Looker) and data warehousing platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift) Comfortable in build-phase environments someone who thrives on shaping new functions and culture Why This Role is Unique You ll own data transformation, building a modern, respected data capability from day one Your work will directly impact how a nationally recognised institution serves its mission You ll engage at senior levels and help shape future hiring, tooling, and strategy You ll leave a visible legacy, in an environment that values trust, creativity, and impact over bureaucracy Benefits Hybrid working with flexible arrangements Enhanced holiday entitlement Generous employer pension (up to 11%) Bonus scheme and annual pay review Life assurance and critical illness cover Discounts and perks across cultural sites and services Interview Process 30 minutes screening call with Recruitment Partner (Video-call) First round (Video-call) - 15 minutes call with Hiring Manager and Data Leader for cultural fit Second round (In person) - Presentation-based interview using a scenario task Third Stage (Video-call) - Short final follow-up Make Insight Count This is more than a data role, it s a leadership opportunity to shape how a purpose-driven organisation uses information to connect with people, grow sustainably, and lead with clarity.
