Intermediate Cost Engineer (Engineering & Construction) - Birmingham, UK. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the development and implementation of cost control strategies for engineering and construction projects. Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports. Track and analyze project expenditures, identifying variances and potential risks. Support the preparation of earned value management (EVM) reports. Assist in the valuation of variations and the management of change control processes. Liaise effectively with project teams, including engineers, project managers, and commercial staff. Contribute to the development and improvement of cost engineering processes and tools. Support the preparation of project close-out reports and lessons learned. What They Are Looking For: A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Some demonstrable experience in a cost engineering or similar role within the engineering or construction industry. Strong analytical and numerical skills with a keen attention to detail. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team. Familiarity with cost control principles and methodologies. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software packages. A proactive approach to learning and professional development.
