Consultant in Obstetrics with Interest in Fetomaternal Medicine HH Applications are invited to apply for the above post in the Maternity Department at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The department is seeking a capable and motivated doctor who enjoys working in both a District General and tertiary referral service and wishes to effect change and improve care for patients within this service. The successful candidate will join the maternity service which provides general obstetric services to the local population 7,500 women per year are cared for within the Trust. There are also tertiary referral services in fetal and maternal medicine, supported by a Level 3 neonatal unit. We anticipate that the successful candidate will have expertise in Fetomaternal Medicine and will continue to maintain this expertise after appointment. This post is intended to be mainly based at the Horton Hospital in Banbury but there is also a Delivery suite/Caesarean Section session at the John Radcliffe Hospital, in Oxford. In order to maintain appropriate competency, there will also be a necessity to rotate through ANC sessions at the John Radcliffe approximately 1 in 4. The provision of high-risk clinics at the Horton is required in alignment with the OUH strategy of care closer to home. On call will be Maternity only at the John Radcliffe Hospital. The post-holder will be expected to undertake sessions providing acute general intrapartum care and obstetric care supported by at least two other obstetricians in training as part of this post. You will undertake obstetric on-call duties of no more frequent than 1:9, currently 1:16 with internal cover (equivalent to 1:12.8 in the worked year). The out of hours on call attracts a supplement paid at Band A.
