We've been assigned by one of the best performing NHS Trusts in the UK to help them recruit a Consultant in Neurology on either a Substantive or a 12 month NHS Fixed Term basis. Our client's Department of Neurology at LNWH currently has a diverse team of 12 Consultant Neurologists across the three hospital sites, with 5 based at one of the main sites. They also have two specialist nurses working across the sites, 2 clinical fellows based at Northwick Park and a fully comprehensive Neurophysiology service at Central Middlesex Hospital inclusive of three full time physiologists and a supervising Neurophysiology Consultant. The Medical Directorate views Neurology services to be a core need both inpatient and outpatient, within the local communities. The post will also be crucial in driving forward the development of Neurology services within the area. This will include the development of Nurse Specialist positions and working with the local Primary Care Trust to enhance access and quality of the service. All consultant staff are allocated secretarial support, an office space and information technology facilities. The appointee will be expected to undertake various duties within the role, including: General outpatient clinics Liaison work on the wards Contribute to advice and guidance and triaging of referrals from the primary sector Supervising the clinical fellows and nurse specialists Participate in both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education in collaboration with other physicians in the Trust Collaborate with the other consultant neurologists to ensure a comprehensive outpatient and ward referral service is available to the hospital Take the departmental lead in working with the Clinical Audit and Effectiveness department to ensure that relevant clinical audit is carried out The appointee will truly be joining an amazing opportunity based in London at one of the biggest trusts in the UK with close proximity to two international airports, along with outstanding private and public schools.
