Service Care Legal are working on a great opportunity for an experienced Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join a well-regarded local authority legal team on a n initial 3 month contract. ROLE: Commercial Contracts Lawyer RATE: £50.00 to £55.00 per hour LTD (£48.46 PAYE inc., £43.24ph PAYE exc.) LOCATION: North West London CONTRACT: 3 months with possibility of extension Please note that this role is hybrid with 2 days per week in office. Key Responsibilities: Manage a full caseload of commercial contracts and procurement matters. Draft and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, including construction and service contracts. Provide legal advice on contract disputes and public procurement issues. Support multidisciplinary corporate projects, offering advice on governance and legal risk. Advise senior officers and elected members on a variety of legal and regulatory matters. Handle data protection and FOI matters in relation to contracts and general governance. About You: Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) in England & Wales with a current practising certificate. Previous experience working within a local government legal team is essential. Strong background in commercial contracts, procurement law, and public sector governance. Familiarity with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023. Comfortable managing a varied caseload and providing clear advice to senior stakeholders. Able to attend the office 2 days per week as part of a hybrid working arrangement.
