CNC Programmer Motorsport & F1 Components About Us: Our client specializes in the design and manufacturing of bespoke components for motorsport and Formula 1 industries. They pride themselves on delivering high-precision, low-volume, one-off parts to the tightest tolerances. (Microns) The team is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of performance and quality, providing our clients with innovative, high-performance solutions. Role Overview: We are seeking a 5-Axis CNC Programmer and CAD/CAM Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting CAD drawings , programming 5-axis CNC machines , and ensuring the manufacturing of complex motorsport and F1 components to micron-level tolerances . Key Responsibilities: Read and Interpret CAD Drawings : Accurately interpret complex 2D and 3D CAD drawings, ensuring designs meet the strict requirements of motorsport and F1 standards. 5-Axis CNC Programming : Program and optimize toolpaths for 5-axis CNC machines , ensuring the production of high-quality, precision components. CAM Software Expertise : Utilize Hypermill (or similar CAM software) to convert CAD models into machinable toolpaths. Optimize machining strategies for complex parts. Machine Setup and Calibration : Oversee machine setup, including the selection and configuration of tools, fixturing, and machine calibration to achieve desired tolerances. Problem Solving and Troubleshooting : Take a proactive approach to identifying and resolving any machining or design-related challenges, ensuring smooth production and high-quality results. Collaborative Communication : Work closely with design engineers, quality controllers, and production teams to ensure seamless workflow and clear communication regarding part requirements and challenges. Process Improvement : Contribute to process optimization, identifying areas for increased efficiency without compromising quality or precision. Skills & Experience Required: CAD Interpretation : Strong experience in reading and understanding complex 2D and 3D CAD drawings , specifically for motorsport and high-performance parts. 5-Axis CNC Programming : Proven experience with 5-axis CNC programming and machine operation, ideally in the motorsport, aerospace , or high-precision manufacturing sectors. CAD/CAM Software Proficiency : Expertise in Hypermill or other advanced CAM software for toolpath generation . Tight Tolerances : Deep understanding of micron-level tolerances and how to achieve them consistently on complex, one-off components. Positive, Can-Do Attitude : A proactive and adaptable approach to challenges, with a focus on delivering results while maintaining quality and precision.
