Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Children's Residential Support Worker to join Stoke on Trent City Council on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working various shift patterns.

The Role:
✔️ Provide day-to-day care and emotional support for young people, following individual care and therapeutic plans.
✔️ Develop meaningful relationships with children and create a safe, nurturing environment.
✔️ Promote education, social inclusion, and life skills to help young people achieve their full potential.
✔️ Encourage positive behaviour and support young people in managing challenges.
✔️ Assist with household duties, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe and welcoming home environment.
✔️ Work collaboratively with families, social workers, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for young people.
✔️ Support children to engage in the community, hobbies, and activities that promote their well-being.
✔️ Safeguard young people by following all relevant policies, reporting concerns, and managing risks.
✔️ Contribute to care planning, record-keeping, and attending meetings related to the young person’s progress.
✔️ Promote independence skills to prepare young people for adulthood.

Requirements:

✔️ Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a residential, care, or support setting.
✔️ A caring, patient, and resilient nature, with the ability to manage challenging situations.
✔️ Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
