Our values ask for a deeper level of commitment, and what is asked of us we freely give because we believe in our mission. /span /li /ul p /p p b u b i Required /i Qualifications: /b /u /b /p ul li Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a master’s prepared Registered Nurse licensed by the New Mexico Board of Nursing for advanced practice as a clinical nurse specialist and whose name and pertinent information are entered on the list of clinical nurse specialists maintained by the New Mexico Board of Nursing /li li Previous CNS experience in specialty specific patient care and evidence-based practice /li li Previous Management experience /li li Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills /li li Demonstration effective interpersonal skills /li li Self-motivation and accountability /li li Team oriented /li /ul p /p p b u b i Preferred /i Qualifications: /b /u /b /p ul li Board certification in nursing leadership (i.e., CNML, CENP, or NE-BC) /li /ul p /p p b u b Duties and Responsibilities: /b /u /b /p p b Patient Care: /b /p ul li Uses expert knowledge regarding the health care needs of the individual, family and community /li li Collaborates with other members of the health care team with complex care patients and other clinical challenges /li li Carries out specialty specific therapeutic regimens in accordance with evidence-based care standards and regulatory expectations /li li Practices in alignment with the New Mexico Board of Nursing and the national certifying nursing organization /li /ul p /p p b Clinical Leadership: /b /p ul li Leads quality and outcome improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes /li li Ensures that patients and families are provided discharge education on disease prevention and management /li li Provides leadership in nursing practice and serves as a role model for other registered nurses /li li Develops policies and procedures to enhance clinical practices and that align with regulatory expectations /li /ul p /p p b Financial and Strategic Management: /b /p ul li Understands health care economics and health care public policy. /li li Demonstrates strong financial aptitude. /li li Exhibits strong business planning and project management abilities. /li li Identifies opportunities and provides direction for program development in the in-patient and clinic settings. /li /ul p /p p b Human Resource Management and Leadership: /b /p ul li Knowledgeable in various recruitment and interviewing techniques. /li li Committed to all aspects of employee development including scope of practice. /li /ul p /p p b Quality and Performance Improvement: /b /p ul li Consistently displays a commitment to improving quality performance. /li li Actively participates in departmental and organizational quality initiatives. /li li Assures the safety of patients and staff is maintained. /li /ul p /p p b Relationship Management and Influencing Behaviors: /b /p ul li Exhibits effective communication and negotiation skills. /li li Can lead a team and crosses boundaries to facilitate collaboration. /li li Interface with, and cultivate relations with, professional and community partners. /li li Understands one’s values, beliefs, and attitudes and how they affect interactions with others. /li /ul p /p p b Shared Decision-Making: /b /p ul li Understands the structure and process of shared governance. /li li Promotes and implements shared decision-making structures and processes. /li /ul p /p p b Personal and Professional Accountability: /b /p ul li Actively participants in personal and professional growth and development. /li li Practices and supports nursing standards and scopes of practice. /li li span Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC’s Service Standards into their daily work: /span /li /ul p span span /span b Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship /b /span /p ul li span Other duties as assigned /span /li /ul p /p p b u b Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions /b /u /b : /p ul li Prolonged sitting /li li Frequent Interruptions /li li Exposure to weather when walking between the CFWE and the Main Hospital /li li May have to work professionally with uncooperative, angry applicants and employees while upholding the mission, visions and values of SJRMC /li /ul
