A large leading international Aerospace company are looking for stress engineers from high tech backgrounds looking to continue on a strong career path within an expert stress and development team. The right candidates will be proficient in Nastran/Patran along with more traditional methods.
Job Summary:
Assist in the stress analysis and subsequent report writing of the company range of electro mechanical aerospace products along with post design support activities. This is a relatively senior position, and it is expected that the candidate would have full knowledge of both traditional hand and computer-assisted analysis techniques. The candidate must be a self-starter with respect to picking up tasks and also be able to function harmoniously with other members of the stress office team.
Key responsibilities
Stress analysis, static, dynamic and fatigue of metallic and composite structures, also mechanical and fluid systems
Provide technical support to the design IPTs, production and Customer Support, involving design improvement suggestions
Some supervision of more junior stress engineers and/or sub-contract stress engineers
Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in documents
Experience required
Preferably several years stress analysis experience involving both hand an computer analysis techniques in an aerospace environment. However candidates with a good design and analysis background in other mechanical or structural engineering industries may be considered
The main requirement for the candidate is a genuine interest in Engineering and the ability to work consistently, diligently and harmoniously, both as an individual and as a member of the Stress Office team
Qualifications required
Engineering degree candidates are preferred; both candidates with less academic qualifications will be considered, provided that strong analysis or design background can be demonstrated.
