Technical Support / Installation Engineer – HGV Electrics
Kent
£23k - £28k OTE + car + benefits
This is an opportunity to join a market leader developing, manufacturing and supplying advanced electronics driver aids to the commercial vehicle market. Working from their Kent base, they seek a Customer Support / Installation Engineer to install their products, provide support, training and a field service function and assist in the further development of their product range. This is much more than an installation role as your attitude and ability will do much to further the companies future plans by building on their solid customer base.
Main duties will involve:-
Installation of products onto customer and prototype vehicles.
Technical support to customers and colleagues
Troubleshooting and diagnostics
Trials and test support
Aid in technical documentation production
Provision product training
Technical support to sales and marketing efforts
To fill this role effectively, they envisage that you will need:-
Apprenticeship in vehicle electrics to C+G level, good literacy and numeracy skills and be a competent PC user
Experience working on commercial vehicle electrics – DC power, serial comms eg CANBUS, plus an understanding of analogue and digital electronics.
A good working knowledge of vehicle electrics system architecture
Excellent customer facing skills – calm under pressure, analytical, a good communicator, excellent command of English, able to get complex information across in a way which is easy to understand.
A responsible individual, able to plan your own work and take responsibility to ensure that targets are achieved.
