- Degree or equiv in Physics or a closely related subject
- Exp developing analytical instruments
- Strong capability in classic optical design
- Analytical but with a practical, experimental approach to development
- Ability to use computer design packages to augment hand calculations
- Experienced at building test rigs, instrumenting them & troubleshooting
- Practical electronic design skills advantageous
