Description
Software Engineer/ Senior Software Engineer – UMV /Military Systems – Java/C++/UML
Salary c £28K - £42K + Benefits package including relocation assistance
Senior Software Engineer/Architect will be responsible for the development of future Mission Management system and software requirements on future tanker aircraft systems, establishing the architectural solution, prototyping new solutions as required and contributing the production of operational test scenarios for verification and validation of the system.
Key Tasks – Evaluate market needs to establish detailed software requirements of Mission Management systems. Contribute to the design and development of Mission Management software solutions. Provide support to Marketing and the Business Capture division to support future prospects and proposals. This will involve reviewing customer requirements and developing technical solutions based on the Mission Management product architecture. Contribute to the specification and development of operational scenarios for the purpose of testing in support of verification activities. Supporting the preparation of system and software estimates for future prospects
Technical/Professional Skills required - .Experience of the following is required – Development of Software requirements. Detailed understanding and experience of the full software development lifecycle and associated work products. Skilled in Software Design and implementation using UML or other Object Orientated Design methodology. Experience of Requirements engineering using DOORS. Experience in designing Software architectures for Java/C++. Experience in data modelling product-orientated software design and development.
Education/Qualifications – Degree level (MSc/BSc in relevant engineering discipline) or equiv experience. Proven experience of Software Engineering.
NB Candidates who have some but not all of the above mentioned will be considered if they have the desire to learn what they do not have. Equally candidates outside of the defence industry will be considered.
