Our client is a leading international engineering group operating from sites in the UK, Continental Europe, Asia, the USA and Mexico, and employing over 6,000 people.
The unit employs 700 people and is a manufacturer of high quality precision components for some of the world’s leading aerospace and industrial gas turbine companies, and comprises of two sites located at Shrewsbury and Sheffield. They are now looking to strengthen their customer facing team in order to improve communication with their customer base and to further develop its customer relationships.
The post holders will be responsible for the day-to-day management of customer accounts and / or engine programmes, providing support to the Operations, Logistics & Purchasing functions with a view to achieving customer requirements, particularly by the management of customer expectations.
You will be expected to liaise closely with customers with respect to technical issues, including quotes and New Projects. Accordingly, you will develop strong relationships with customer contacts, and look to improve and develop an understanding of customer and market trends and provide quantifiable inputs to business forecasts, budgets and plans. You will represent the Company at customer meetings both on site and off, including where required overseas, taking minutes, preparing and disseminating visit or contact reports within the business.
Ideally the candidate will have a technical, logistics or operations background with some experience in the areas of machining and fabrication of aerospace components, together with a sound commercial understanding. You will be capable of managing and closing out projects that involve all aspects of manufacture from quote through to delivery. It is important that you are people orientated with excellent communication skills both verbal and written. You must also be computer literate.
It is likely that the successful candidate will be qualified to a minimum of HNC in production, manufacturing engineering or in a business related subject, however this is not essential. A flexible approach to problem solving is also highly desirable.
The Shrewsbury site is commutable from areas such as North Birmingham, Stafford, Telford, Wolverhampton, Wrexham, Kidderminster and Stoke on Trent.
The South Yorkshire site is located near Renishaw approximately 10-15 minutes from J30 on the M1. This is commutable from areas such as Sheffield, Rotherham, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Macclesfield, Doncaster, Barnsley, Huddersfield and Wakefield.
