We are currently looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to join our client’s team based in Liversedge. The main purpose of this role is to provide proactive support and response for all customer quality and engineering issues. Within this role, your main responsibilities will include understanding customer requirements / expectations in detail and communicating these with the internal team, acting as the main focal point for all quality and engineering issues and project managing quality / engineering requirements through ISIR, Capability Studies and AAR. You will also be expected to define, specify and project manage the manufacture and introduction of the necessary test equipment, define and optimise the measurement techniques to deliver a stable and capable production process and manage the interface between NPI, manufacturing and the Standards Room / Laboratory related to product inspection and testing.

The successful candidate will have worked in a similar role within a high volume manufacturing environment and will hold a HNC or equivalent in an engineering related subject. You should have experience of quality gained from within an automotive, project engineering or customer liaison environment and you will have a working knowledge of QS9000, ISO 14001, TS16949, APQP and PPAP. It is essential that you can show an understanding of ISIR, capability requirements, gauging concepts and Design of Experiments and you must be able to read and understand engineering drawings (geometric tolerance and datum structures). It would be advantageous for you to have experience of plastics and carrying out internal and external audits although this is not essential. You will have a strong customer focussed and be proactive in your approach along with being an excellent team player with good analytical and problem solving skills. You should be able to lead and drive initiatives and work effectively at all times, even when under pressure.
